The Over Deity
Greg Walter

In this little exercise, close your eyes, and imagine the world around you for just one moment, then, expand from it, past the world, past the stars, past time and space itself…till you see a warm green light…watch it as it becomes a sphere that is slow in its movements from left to right.
Listen…and you will hear a humming, soft and rising in strength, almost becoming the sound of voices within hymn, with every new voice, add a sphere of (choose a color) light, and when they begin to move, like slow shooting stars. Follow them, as if gently taken into a current of a river.
Watch as the river of gentle lights becomes bigger, strong in its psalm, curving slowly towards other rivers of likeness, which all meet at the center of a great nimbus of glowing warmth.
Some of the lights stop, but never does the entirety cease to move, indeed, some lights become part of others, and soon make further towards the heart of the cosmos you see now.
What you see before you is the Over Deity, not so much an entity that rules over all, or thinks, but is merely a nexus point that exists to create and continue existence itself. Each light is a soul, and the souls are part of the Over Deity, funneling the energy of life and death so that the sphere does not implode under the intensity of such power.
The souls cannot be destroyed; they can only be dispersed for a time, to destroy a soul is merely to extinguish the collected amounts of whatever they hold, forcing the soul to start again in collecting what the Over Deity requires. Creatures like demons or lesser gods cannot damn the souls without the soul's consent or belief that it can be imprisoned, though eventually the soul will break free of the illusion and return to the cosmos.
So is it that even should a man die, the cosmos will continue, even should evil win, the cosmos will continue, and even should everything be destroyed, existence itself will continue on, creating what needs to replace that which was destroyed. For it is the primal will of the Over Deity.
Now, imagine you're going beyond this scene, till you see that you have returned exactly to where you are right now, and that the cosmos was within you all along.
Wanted to state a little idea I had, maybe it's true, maybe not, I think I'll incorporate the idea into my book though. If you want a better idea of the hymne I was thinking of when I imagined this, go down below for the link, you'll laugh your ass off. :meow:

This is a really nice idea, and a sweet little meditation exercise. Mine usually involves breathing like the sea until you find yourself on the shore, then descending down a flight of steps carved into the waves (counting them) until you find a cast-iron door in the depths. Open it, and you see a platform of nearly-invisible glass in a black void filled with stars, with tiny blue flames orbiting the outside and the galaxy reflected in the glass. If you have the courage to step onto it, you can meet the part of you that guides you - your totem animal, if you will. Mine's a spider on a gorse bush =) And if you go further in... Let's just say that there be dragons :D
